Paget Lions, Somerset Eagles & PHC Zebras Win
Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this weekend, with the Paget Lions, Somerset Eagles, and PHC Zebras all earning wins.
First Division
Paget Lions 6 – Southampton Rangers 2
The Paget Lions picked up a big win to begin the second half of the season with a 6 – 2 win over the Southampton Rangers at the Southampton Oval.
The Paget Lions got two goals from Kushae Hypolite and Antwan Russell and single strikes from Rakeem DeShields and Diaje Hart, while Southampton Rangers got two goals from Akale Bean.
Ireland Rangers 2 – Somerset Eagles 3
Ireland Rangers scored two second-half goals as Somerset Eagles picked up their first win of the season 3– 2 at the Somerset Cricket Club.
Premier Division
Somerset Trojans 1 – PHC Zebras 5
At the Somerset Cricket Club, the PHC Zebras went to the top of the Premier Division standings following their 5 – 1 win over the Somerset Trojans.
The Somerset Trojans took the lead when Na’eem Griffith scored from a free kick that beat the keeper in the 28th minute. In the first minute of first-half stoppage time, Arnezha Astwood doubled the score with a left-footed shot, one minute later it was 3 – 0 as an own goal put the PHC Zebras in control at the break.
The Somerset Trojans were able to pull a goal back in the 61st minute when Justin Corday scored, but in the 78th minute the PHC Zebras restored their three-goal lead when Keishon Bean scored, and then Paul Simons closed out the scoring in the 90th minute to earn them a 5 – 1 win.
PHC took the lead !!
