Dale Eve Signs With Bedford Town Football Club

January 8, 2023

Bedford Town Football Club said they are “delighted to welcome” the signing of Bermudian goalkeeper Dale Eve.

A statement from the club said, “The 27 year old goalkeeper has joined on dual registration terms from Hereford FC. We would like to thank everyone at Edgar Street for assisting with the registration this week.

“Eve started his career in his home country of Bermuda. He played for his local side Dandy Town, before relocating to England and being spotted by Derby County.

“Following this youth agreement, Eve then went on to play for Stoke City on a two year development term back in June 2011, when they were in the Premier League. Whilst at Stoke, Eve made his international debut for Bermuda at the age of 16, making him the Potters youngest ever international player.

“Whilst with Stoke, Dale went on to have several loan moves including Fleetwood, Nuneaton, Forest Green and Newcastle Town. Having left Stoke in 2016, he signed permanently for Forest Green and was part of their side which narrowly missed out on promotion to the Football League, losing to Grimsby in the playoffs.

“Having returned home for a short period, Eve returned to the UK and played for Kidderminster Harriers, Ilkeston FC and Rushall Olympic. Just before the Covid-19 pandemic, he joined National League North side Spennymoor Town, and made 33 appearances for them in the COVID hit season. After relocating, he joined Hereford where he played in their FA Cup tie against Portsmouth on the BBC in November.

“Eve also has a strong experience of international football, having played 30 times for Bermuda, including in their World Cup qualifying campaigns. He appeared for the national football team in March 2015 playing the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Bahamas and keeping a clean sheet in a 3–0 victory.
