NMB Postpones Community Day Due To Weather
Due to inclement weather, the National Museum of Bermuda [NMB] is postponing their Community Day, originally scheduled for Sunday, February 26.
A spokesperson said, “The Museum team is working on setting a new date in March and will be providing that information to the public soon. If you have questions, you can call the NMB offices on weekdays, 9am-5pm: 441-234-1333 or the NMB Ticket Office on weekends, 9am-4pm: 441-234-1418.
“NMB’s initiative, sponsored by BF&M, is ongoing through the end of February: admission to the Museum is free for Bermuda residents all month. To take advantage of Free for February, Bermuda residents should bring proof of residency such as a driver’s license, social insurance card or utility bill. The postponed Community Day will be free for all residents and non-residents, no identification is required.
“Bermuda residents who visit during Free for February can enter a weekly raffle to win a free family membership. NMB member benefits include: unlimited free admission, members magazine MARITimes, 10% discount on all NMB publications, access to genealogy research, invitations to special events and exhibit openings, savings at participating Dockyard restaurants, Dolphin Quest and Keep the Flow yoga classes, and reciprocal membership to maritime museums affiliated with the International Congress of Maritime Museums. Free NMB Press publications [rotating weekly] will be available in Commissioner’s House during the month on a first come, first serve basis.”
NMB Advancement Officer Katie Bennett shared: “While we are disappointed that we had to postpone our Community Day due to wet and windy weather, we are working quickly to set a new date in March and look forward to sharing that soon. In the meantime, I hope all Bermuda residents will take advantage of Free for February. I encourage you to pick up a family activity booklet [in the NMB Ticket Office or download at www.nmb.bm/freeforfebruary] and download our “Black History in Bermuda” digital tour on the app Smartify – both are great ways to dive deeper into Bermuda history and NMB exhibits on your visit”.
