BELCO Crews Working To Restore Power
BELCO crews been dispatched and are working to restore power following outages caused by the high winds this evening [March 7], with the outage list showing around 120 customers out as of just before 10pm.
The Bermuda Weather Service [BWS] previously issued a Gale Warning valid for late this afternoon until Wednesday morning and noted that “an area of low pressure is forecast to develop to our north tonight into tomorrow. The low will bring gale force winds from late Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning, with the strongest winds and gusts likely during Tuesday evening.”
BELCO tweeted, “We are aware of customers experiencing outages due to high winds. Our crews are currently working to restore power. If you are affected by an outage, please unplug all sensitive equipment.”
