Robbery At Jewellery Store On Queen Street

Police are investigating a robbery at E.R. Aubrey on Queen Street in which a male entered the store and requested to see a gold chain, then snatched the chain from a store clerk’s hand and “ran out of the store without payment and jumped onto a waiting motor bike ridden by another person and fled the scene.”

A police spokesperson said, “Around 1130 a.m. on Friday, March 17th, 2023, Police were dispatched to E.R. Aubrey at #19 Queen Street, City of Hamilton, in response to a reported robbery.

“Upon arrival, officers were informed a male entered the store and requested to see a gold chain that was on display.

“The man is reported to have snatched the chain from a store clerk’s hand and ran out of the store without payment.

“He made his way to the Queen Elizabeth Park where it was reported he jumped onto a waiting motor bike ridden by another person and fled the scene.

“The subject who snatched the chain is described as light brown complexioned, 5’ 7” in height, thin built, wearing dark clothing, Manchester United mask, black hat and sneakers.

“Checks were conducted in the areas of Queen Elizabeth Park, Par-la-Ville Road, Queen Street, Reid Street and Church Street, with negative results.
