Arts Council’s Awards Ceremony Tomorrow
On Saturday evening [May 20], the Department of Culture and the Bermuda Arts Council [BAC] will host the Annual Awards Ceremony at the Earl Cameron Theatre.
A Government spokesperson said, “This event will celebrate those Bermudians who have made significant contributions to the island’s arts and cultural scene with their body of work.
“Those being awarded will be formally announced on Saturday evening, when the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Sen. the Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP, recognises five individuals in the categories of:
- Founder’s Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award; and
- Patron Award
Minister Darrell said, “Our Ministry understands the importance of art as a universal language, where individual expression becomes the ultimate storyteller. Art connects us with our community by providing a window through which we can look at the themes and subjects that are inspiring our storytellers.
“We are so very proud to support the work of the Bermuda Arts Council as they shine a spotlight on the talent, hard work, and dedication of five deserving Bermudians.”
The Government spokesperson said, “Following the awards presentation on Saturday, more information will be shared regarding this year’s recipients.”
