Arts Centre’s Set To Open Off The Beaten Path’
The Bermuda Arts Centre is getting set to open ‘Off The Beaten Path’ on Friday [May 19] from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Arts Centre is gearing up for the opening of ‘Off The Beaten Path’ this Friday, May 19 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
“The show is held at Rosalie Gardens, the home of Mr. Dale Butler, at 35 Angle Street.
“Paintings will be displayed and for sale in an open air gallery winding through the paths of Rosalie’s beautiful gardens. Many of Bermuda’s best spots are found off the beaten path and our member artists have covered them from one end of the Island to the other in a variety of media.
“Some people think of Angle street as off the beaten path and some know it as the heartbeat of Hamilton. Whichever way you look at, this bit of beautiful and magical Hamilton is certainly an ideal spot for a gathering of those that appreciate art.
“The Bermuda Plein Air Group will be in attendance and capturing the evening and buildings of Angle Street [painting along Angle Street from Court to Elliot Streets.]
“Meet the artists and you might just like a piece enough to purchase right off the easel.
“The Plein Air Group will be painting for the duration of the art opening.
“After the show finishes at 7.00pm, we will be taking the paintings down and they will be rehung at The Bermuda Arts Centre, where the show will remain on our walls until June 10.
“7.00pm is also when the magic of the evening starts. Rosalie Gardens will then turn into a fairy lit evening of music and fun.
“There will be live entertainment featuring the jazz music of Miles Manders and Keith Lee and Mr. Butler will be serving his award-winning codfish dinner.
“Please note that if you are not part of the dinner that you must leave the gardens at this time.
“The codfish dinner is $28 and includes:
- 1. A codfish roll [we have no idea what this is, but Mr. Butler is excited to reveal this delectable starter not only to those in attendance, but to the entire world].
- 2. A codfish plate featuring Mr. Butler’s award winning fish cakes, served with rice and salad
- 3. A dessert which is also a top secret
- 4. You also receive a raffle ticket for a fun surprise
“Your fish cake dinner must be pre-ordered. The deadline to order dinner is Wednesday, May 17. You simply have to reserve and then pay on the evening. Call Dale Butler at 595-9841 to reserve.
“Parking is available along Court Street and also at the parking lot on the corner of Court and Angle Street.
