Bermuda Snooker Players Compete In New York

Bermuda players are competing in the International Snooker League Spring Tournament in New York.

Scratch Tournament

Despite only flying in late to defend his Scratch Title, Paul Fedden stormed into the final for Bermuda, defeating Utah’s Rick Mackenzie 2-0 & fellow Bermudian, Tyler Moniz 2-1 along the way, setting up a best-of-5 final clash with Swiss borne New Yorker, Atilla Kerenyi.

Kerenyi took an early lead when he defeated Fedden 48-46 on the black ball to go 1-0 up, Fedden then equalized, taking the 2nd game 59-32

Kerenyi bounced right back in the 3rd, taking it 63-8, but once again Fedden levelled the match, taking the 4th game 64-36

So at 2-2, it came down to the wire, Kerenyi edged Fedden at the post to claim victory in the final game on the pink ball, 51-31.

Random Double

Random doubles partners Moniz and Mike Dominguez of Seattle clinched a black ball victory over Steve Pavlick of Halifax and Ayo Abraham of Calgary when they prevailed, taking the aggregate of 2 back-to-back doubles games 101-94.

Don Thomas 1 Game Shoot-Out

The Don Thomas shoot out consists of all the players who were dispatched in the 1st round of the singles handicap competition

The final saw reigning Bermuda Open Champion, Steven Bremar defeat New York’s Ian O’Mahony 55-23 for the title.
