Jon Beard, the Chef de Mission for the CAC Games remarked, “I’m honoured to be the Chef de Mission for the 2023 CAC Games in El Salvador. These Games are for the athletes and it’s always a privilege to watch Bermuda compete in regional international competition. The facilities for many sports are brand new or have been recently renovated. The people of San Salvador have been welcoming and very friendly with pre-game preparations. Cities normally have four years to prepare for CAC, however, Panama withdrew as the host city two years ago, and San Salvador stepped up to host and will do an excellent job!”

The BOA’s Standard Committee chair, Katura Horton-Perinchief commented, “Perhaps the most satisfying part of the extensive job the Standard Committee has, is the ability to select qualified athletes to represent the country in multi-sport events. The BOA is sending an unprecedented number of athletes who will not only participate at the CAC Games but should be quite competitive. The team consists of athletes who offer a mix of experience levels. We will see Bermuda represented in archery, beach volleyball and golf for the first time, which speaks even louder to the depth of talent on the island and the commitment to excellence our athletes and national sports governing bodies uphold. We know Team Bermuda will do the island proud at the Games.”

The spokesperson said, “The BOA would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Team Bermuda on their selection to compete and represent Bermuda at the 2023 CAC Games.”
