Marcus Scotland Leads Newport To Victory
Marcus Scotland led his Newport Cricket Club Wales teammates to victory over Usk Cricket Club in the UK.
Newport won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 268/6 in their allotted 40 overs. Scotland led the batting with a knock of 69, which came off 56 balls; he hit eight fours and two sixes. Scotland shared an 81-run first wicket partnership with Mansoor Tariq before he was the first to go. Matthew Williams was the pick of the Usk bowlers with figures of 7-0-65-2.
In reply, Usk were bowled out for 168. Oliver Robson was the top scorer with 40, while Mujeid Ilyas was the pick of the Newport bowlers with figures of 5-0-30-5; Scotland had a stumping.
