Brianna Ray Makes Eastern Counties History
Brianna Ray made history as the first female player to take the field in the 122-year history of the Eastern Counties cricket series.
This was noted by Eastern County Cricket Association, who said, “Last Saturday, during the second match of the 2026 Eastern Counties cricket series, Brianna Ray became the first-ever female player to take the field in the competition’s 122-year history!
“Currently playing for Somerset Cricket Club in the domestic cricket league, Brianna was named as a reserve for the Flatt’s Victoria team and was called upon to field not long into the match, seeing plenty of action before Flatt’s went in to bat.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate this historic moment in Eastern Counties cricket and to see Brianna break new ground in the competition and on the Bermuda cricket scene.”
