Squash Team Begin Pan American Qualifiers
The Pan American Qualifying Squash Championships got underway with Bermuda’s Noah Browne, Anaya Smith, and Taylor Carrick all taking to the courts.
In his first round match that took 25 minutes to complete, Carrick lost in three straight games 11-6, 11-5, 11-6 to Jose Tomas Gallegos from Chile.
Smith also lost in his first round match in straight games 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 to Juan Sebastian Salazar Gomez from Mexico in their 17 minute battle.
Browne took on Dane Schwier from Jamaica in his first round match, advancing with an 11-5, 11-7, 11-9 victory in 20 minutes of action.
Browne returned to the court for his second round match, taking on number two seed Miguel Rodriguez from Columbia; Browne lost 11-6, 11-3, 11-1 in 21 minutes.
