Traffic Advisory For ‘Revel De Road’ On June 19

The Ministry of Public Works is “informing motorists that the Carnival Revel De Road Procession will take place on Monday, June 19th, 2023 and will require multiple road closures at the times listed below.”

A Government spokesperson said, “There will be three routes to this event that will require road closures. See below for each route and the times events will take place. Motorists are requested to avoid these routes during the times specified.

Route 1: Start time 12:00 pm until 3:30 pm

  • Commencing on Cedar Avenue at the north end of Victoria Park heading to Marsh Folly Road and along Palmetto Road to Barker’s Hill roundabout.

Route 2: Start time 3:45 pm until 7:30 pm

  • Commencing from Barker’s Hill roundabout on North Shore Road heading west to Black Watch Pass then south to Marsh Folly Road towards Cedar Avenue. Then back on Cedar Avenue to head back to Victoria Park.

Break: Start time 7:30 pm until 8:30 pm

  • Dinner Break with trucks parked along Wesley Street

Route 3: Start time 8:30 pm until 11:30 pm

  • Commencing on Victoria Street behind Victoria Park heading west to Wesley Street and head south, then turn west onto Church Street to Par-La-Ville Road to head north to BAA Car Park and enter the Park on the northern side to end the procession.

Traffic Control: Residents in these areas are encouraged to follow instructions by Police and Traffic Marshals who will allow residents access as necessary. Residents are asked to avoid driving along the parade route whilst participants are on route.

Parking: There will be no parking restriction for this event. Motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the event. Additionally, motorists must not block the event routes or impede the participants.

“In addition, the Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
