Adrift Oil Barrel Safely Recovered From Water
A cruise ship “sighted a suspected oil barrel adrift in Murrays Anchorage” and it was safely recovered from the water.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Monday 17th July, 11:40am – Bermuda Radio was notified by the inbound cruise ship Vision of the Seas, that they had sighted a suspected oil barrel adrift in Murrays Anchorage and were concerned this was a hazard to navigation.
“The Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard were tasked to search for the object adrift, a short while later Heron III was successful at locating the drum and safely recovered the hazard to navigation to shoreside.”
