Athene Sponsors T20 Men’s Cricket League
The Executive of the Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced a partnership renewal with Athene Life Re as the title sponsor of the 2023 Athene T20 Men’s Cricket League.
A spokesperson said, “The well-anticipated, fast-paced tournament will begin on July 15 with participation from 12 member clubs and the island’s best cricket players — 10 rounds over a period of 8 weeks.
“This will include a ‘Match of the Week’ event, chosen by the BCB’s cricket committee which will be hosted and promoted by the clubs in the effort to increase revenue and visibility in the community.
“In the Premier Division: St. David’s County Cricket Club, St. George’s Cricket Club, Western Stars Sports Club, Somerset Cricket Club, Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club, Willow Cuts Cricket Club.
“In the First Division: Cleveland County Cricket Club, Devonshire Recreation Club, Flatts Victoria Recreation Club, Southampton Rangers Sports Club, Warwick Workmen’s Club and Somerset Bridge Recreation Club.
“During a press conference held on Monday, July 3rd, Ms. Natasha Scotland Courcy, CEO and General Counsel, at Athene Life Re Ltd. said that Athene is pleased to support the T20 League as the BCB prepares for the inaugural year of the Bermuda Premier League and the ICC Americas Men’s T20 World Cup Final here on island in September.”
“Cricket plays such an important and integral part of bringing community together. It brings the youth together, it brings the people together, it’s generational.
Ms Scotland Courcy continued, “Through our partnership with the BCB and events like the awards ceremony, it was amazing to see our impact in action. This sport is a community changer.”
