Bermuda Win 5 Medals In Carifta Triathlon
The 5th annual CARIFTA Triathlon got underway in Nassau, Bahamas, with Bermuda’s athletes making a strong showing to win five medals on the first day.
In the female 11-12 age group division, Sofia LeClerc finished 5th with a time of 24:06, Daisy Langley was 9th clocking 25:57, while Riana Robinson was 12th with a time of 27:24, Elena Bortoli crossed the line 14th in a time of 28:30, and Zara Bule finished 17th in 29:27.
In the male 11-12 age group division Rory Shepherd finished T1st with a time of 21:15, Rohan Roopra was 4th clocking a time of 22:07, Jens Drea was 5th in 22:20, while Dominic Wright finished 6th in 22:36, and Rory Fosker was 14th in 26:28.
Somers Estwanik finished 4th in the female 13-15 age group division clocking a time of 39:36, Ella Shepherd was 6th in 41:54, Madison Schindel was 8th in a time of 42:22, while Tallulah Parkinson finished 12th clocking 44:02, and Kelise Wade was 16th in a time of 46:01.
Jackson Langley won the male 13-15 age group division clocking a time of 32:56, while Ollie Hayward crossed the line 3rd with a time of 34:05, Noah Maranzana finished 9th with a time of 35:48, Jacob Wright was 14th clocking 37:47, and Sanchez Smith clocked 38:43 to finish 16th.
Fenella Wightman finished second competing in the female 16-19 age group division clocking 1:13:33, and Carina Bortoli finished 12th clocking 1:28:32. In the male 16-19 age group division, Jamie Bedford clocked a winning time of 1:04:06, and Jake Smith finished 8th in 1:07:55.
