Somersfield To Grant Equity & Merit Scholarships
Somersfield Academy announced new scholarship opportunities for students entering between M4 [MYP] to DP [Diploma Program] levels for academic years 2023/24 and 2024/25.
A spokesperson said, “Following through with its strategic vision, the Equity and Merit Scholarships aim to empower students in the Bermuda community to become global leaders. These scholarships are for academically excellent students who have the potential to contribute to global issues, locally. The scholarships will provide financial assistance to eligible and motivated students who embody the values of the school.
“Somersfield Academy is renowned for its commitment to holistic learning, empowering students to become critical thinkers, compassionate individuals, and global citizens. The nurturing environment and dedicated faculty create a perfect platform for students to thrive both academically and personally.
“The awards are intended for those who cannot afford this educational journey without a scholarship. We are committed to a policy of equal opportunity and all applications are considered on their merit.”
“The Equity and Merit Scholarship at Somersfield Academy is designed to recognize and support exceptional students with a strong passion for learning,” says Riki Teteina, Head of School. “We encourage applications from talented individuals who demonstrate exemplary academic skills, outstanding character, and a desire to make a positive impact on the world.”
The spokesperson said, “Those awarded will be considered for full and partial coverage for the academic year, access to a diverse range of extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes; mentorship and guidance from experienced educators; leadership opportunities throughout the year and an opportunity to be a part of a close-knit, vibrant community of learners.
“The deadline for the Equity and Merit Scholarship application for 2023/2024 is Monday 21st August 2023. Deadline for applications 2024 – 2025 is Friday 9th February 2024.”
