CFA Society To Offer Financial Literacy Series
CFA Society Bermuda is offering its Financial Literacy Series, in partnership with the Bermuda College’s Athora Division of Professional and Career Education [APACE], beginning on September 20th, 2023.
A spokesperson said, “The course will be delivered on Wednesday evenings, over four weeks online via Zoom.
“Week 1 builds the foundation of identifying your values and goals as the basis of your financial decisions and introduces the basics of savings and budgeting. Week 2 is a deeper dive into income, expenses, and debt, introducing common financial products. Week 3 explores the importance of saving and retirement planning, providing an overview of Bermuda’s pension program. Week 4 ties all the key concepts together and explores frequently asked questions on a variety of financial topics. Each week is designed to be interactive with polls and group discussions built in and the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
“The initiative is volunteer-led with local CFA charterholders offering their knowledge and experience to deliver the course and provide real-life examples, intended to be relevant to Bermuda, wherever possible. Since its inception in 2019, the series has reached nearly 200 participants of diverse backgrounds, ranging from teenagers to seniors. The common thread being that financial literacy is relevant for everyone, to help make informed financial decisions.
“The course is $80 and registration can be completed on the Bermuda College APACE website.”
