Local racing drivers are gearing up for the new Bermuda Karting Club [BKC] season, which starts at the Rubis Southside Raceway in St David’s on September 17.

The series features 16 race days – six this year and ten next year – with the season finale on April 28.

“Racers and race fans, we are just 17 days out from the Bermuda Karting Club’s first race day of the 2023-24 season,” the BKC posted on Instagram.

“It all goes down on Sunday, September 17, at the Rubis Southside Raceway.

“Bring out the family and enjoy a day of exciting karting racing.

“Ask any of our race day officials how you can get involved. See you at the track!”

Jason North, one of the island’s top drivers, will serve as the BKC president after replacing Scott Barnes, who stepped down after three years at the helm in May.

Barnes intends to take a year off competing locally to focus on overseas races. He races at the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix in Quad Cities in the United States this weekend.
