The Gaz Serenity tanker — which was traveling from the USA to Gibraltar – diverted to Bermuda to disembark a crewmember with a “high body temperature who required medical assistance.”

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “RCC Bermuda was advised by local shipping agent Meyers, that the 16,777GRT, Panama registered LPG tanker Gaz Serenity was diverting to Bermuda in order to disembark a Ukrainian crewmember with high body temperature and required medical assistance.

“The ship was on passage from Marcus Hook, U.S.A to Gibraltar. At around 7pm that day, the tanker arrived offshore, and the patient was safely transferred from the ship ashore to Ordnance Island by the Pilot/Rescue boat St David, and subsequently transported by ambulance to KEMH.”
