A golf tournament was held in memory of the late Gladwin Anthony “Toe” Dill, which raised $4000 to help ”cover the substantial medical expenses incurred during his courageous fight against cancer.”

A spokesperson said, “Gladwin Anthony, affectionately known as ‘Toe’ Dill, peacefully departed this world on September 22, 2023, following his courageous fight against cancer. “Toe was passionate about the game of football. He played for the Bermuda National Squad, Hotels International, and Hamilton Parish. However, his heart was with the Social Club. He leaves a great legacy of National Squad footballers, his son Antwan, and grandchildren Enrique and Daley, of which he was very proud. He was also proud that his grandson Tyree was chosen to portray Clyde Best in his upcoming documentary. He kept the newspaper clipping on display at his bedside.

“Toe’s passion for golf ignited after he went to play a round with his friend Roy Simons [Uncle Roy], who introduced him to the sport. After that day, he began playing golf every evening. Nurturing the budding talent, he joined several golf teams and participated in tournaments. Notably, Toe scored a hole-in-one at the Ocean View Golf Course.
