‘Athlete To Professional’ Career Experience
C.L.A.S.S. Athletic [Curating Legacy Athletes through Scholastic Success] — Bermuda’s newest scholastic initiative for high school athletes – is set to host their inaugural ‘Athlete to Professional’ Career Experience on Saturday November 25th.
A spokesperson said, “The event will be held at the Prospect Police Recreation Club from 2:00 – 4:30pm. This year’s invitation is extended to high school athletes actively participating in the sport of track and field.
“The initiative’s primary focus is to bridge the gap between scholastic and athletic excellence and facilitate readiness for future college/university experiences. Their unique service is built on common experiences and is driven by improving the current student-athlete experience.
“The event will provide an opportunity for athletes to network with “Past Athlete Professionals” who serve as representatives for their careers and their athletic experiences in track and field. Athletes will engage with professionals through a series of interactive activities including a panel discussion, mock interview exchanges, and roundtable activities which will allow athletes and professionals to connect outside of the sport that ties them together.
“The panel discussion, will feature top names in the history of the sport like Rohaan Simons [Entrepreneurship/Trade Profession], Derrick Golding [Police Service], Latroya Darrell [Allied Health Services], Trey Simons [Re-insurance], and Taylor-Ashley Bean [Financial Services], along with many others working within various career sectors.
“C.L.A.S.S. Athletic is excited to introduce opportunities like this to the up and coming student-athlete seeking to use sport as a way to network, build community, and develop their professional skills. Although the current focus is on track and field athletes, C.L.A.S.S. Athletic will include athletes and past athletes from a variety of sports in the future.
“Athletes are encouraged to sign-up using the active link attached to the event flyer or on Instagram @classathletic. Sign-up is required prior to event entry as spots are limited. If anyone has any questions regarding the event or the services that C.L.A.S.S. Athletic provides, please feel free to contact them at class.athleticbda@gmail.com.”
