BSoA: Life Drawing Sessions On Wednesdays

The Bermuda Society of Arts [BSoA] is offering life drawing sessions for anyone keen on improving their figure drawing every Wednesday from 5:45 until 7:45 in the gallery, which is located on the top floor of City Hall.

A spokesperson said, “This weekly drawing session allows participants to practice and develop their approaches and drawing techniques with a particular focus on the human anatomy. A model will go through various poses for varying amounts of time throughout the session.

“These sessions are self-led; meaning they do not have an instructor. This allows participants the freedom to practice in a low-pressure environment.”

There has been a wide range of skill levels that have participated in the class and they have begun to improve through these sessions. Participants note a relaxed, comfortable environment that is offered within the space.

One participant said, “As a self-taught artist going to classes can be intimidating. The BSoA life drawing class is the perfect way to connect with other more informed artists and practice techniques at my own pace. The other artists are helpful and the environment is calm and comforting. I would recommend it to artists of all levels!”

The spokesperson said, “Sessions cost $30 for non-members and $25 for gallery members. For information about becoming a member, visit bsoa.bm/join/become-a-member.
