CG Defeat Appleby In Ball Hockey Action
In Bermuda’s ball hockey competition, a single match at the PCC Hockey Rink concluded with a total of eight goals scored. CG managed to net goals in each period, ultimately triumphing over Appleby with a score of 5 to 3.
Nathan Kowalski opened the scoring with the first period’s only goal, providing CG with an early 1-0 lead. Appleby’s response came promptly in the second period when James Amaral scored, drawing the game level at 1-1. However, Kowalski regained the lead for CG partway through the period and completed his hat-trick shortly before the period ended.
As the third period began, Kowalski extended his scoring tally to four goals, securing a 4-1 lead for CG. Marcel Bouwens narrowed the deficit for Appleby, but Chris Cairns increased CG’s lead once more to three goals, making it 5-2. Amaral, persistent, netted his second goal of the game, bringing Appleby closer at 5-3.
The rest of the match saw no further goals, with CG sealing the victory.
