Collie Buddz Album Nominated For Grammy

The ‘Cali Roots Riddim 2023′ album by Bermudian reggae artist Collie Buddz has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Reggae Album category.

The Grammys — set to be held on February 4, 2024 — in Los Angeles, will see a vibrant mix of talent vying for the coveted awards.

In the Best Reggae Album category, Collie Buddz faces competition from renowned artists like Buju Banton with “Born For Greatness,” Beenie Man’s “Simma,” Burning Spear’s “No Destroyer,” and Julian Marley & Antaeus with “Colors Of Royal.”

SZA is the top nominee for the 66th annual Grammy Awards with nine nods, all for her album “SOS,” which topped the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks.

She leads a group of contenders that also includes Victoria Monét (with seven), as well as Jon Batiste, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift (all with six apiece). Songs from the movie “Barbie” received 11 nods in seven categories

      I think it helps to have an album, submit it and maybe gain some international acclaim as the other artists who were also nominated have done. Burning Spear, Buju Banton, Collie Buddz, Julian Marley have all put out major international releases and all have a major cultural impact across the world. Looking forward to a Live Wire album!
