OK, someone has to ask. What does [Gender] mean? I ask to clear up any confusion on what [Gender] specifically means for the purposes of the meeting. How many [Gender]s are acknowledged by CARICOM?

Thank you in advance to whoever can answer my questions.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

The term “gender” refers to the social constructed characteristics of male and female.

Whilst much of the world is moving away from a binary concept of gender, Caribbean islands such as Barbados are fiercely conservative and will hold on to that binary concept for years to come.

      • Hilarious! says:

Why would CARICOM believe in only two genders? Is the count now over 80? To be inclusive and progressive, the 78+ others must be counted. Updated: One website I just read claims 107! Every gender must be listed and included from Abinary to Xenogender.

“Why would CARICOM believe in only two genders?”

          It is following religious conservatism.

      • Question says:

Most of the world still knows what is obviously true.

What if anything are Churches of Bermuda saying about this?

    • sandgrownan says:

Who gives a toss what the churches say or think? They are an irrelevance, and should keep their opinions (because that’s all they are) to themselves.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

      Churches in Bermuda can talk?

Can whoever invented the talking church patent the idea and licence it?

Bermuda needs the income that can be generated from licencing the technology of talking buildings and to tax it!
