Somersfield Announce Scholarship Recipients
Somersfield Academy announced the recipients of the Equity and Merit Scholarship for the academic year 2023-2024.
A spokesperson said, “These exceptional students have demonstrated outstanding dedication and promise, embodying the values of Somersfield Academy and showcasing a commitment to becoming future global leaders.”
The 2023-2024 Equity & Merit Scholarship recipients are:
- Eden Lightbourne ’25
- J’yindae Preece ’25
- Noah Astwood ’25
- Namazio Dill ’26
- Nico Bean ’26
- Rose Paulos ’26
- Samantha Binega-Northcott ’26
“These scholars have exhibited exceptional academic skills, outstanding character, and a profound desire to make a positive impact on the world,” says Riki Teteina, Head of School. “Somersfield Academy is proud to support their educational journey with full or partial tuition coverage, access to diverse extracurricular activities, enrichment programmes, mentorship from experienced educators, and leadership opportunities throughout the year.”
The spokesperson said, “The Equity and Merit Scholarship at Somersfield Academy is designed to empower academically excellent students who have the potential to contribute to global issues locally. As part of the application process, candidates are required to submit a student-authored essay showcasing their passion for learning and a positive attitude toward personal growth. Active involvement in community services or extracurricular activities is also a key criterion for consideration.”

The spokesperson said, “Applications for the Equity and Merit Scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025 are now open. Interested candidates, who are not yet part of the Somersfield Community, are invited to submit their applications via https://mysomersfield.com/equity-and-merit-scholarship by Friday, 9th February 2024.
“The selection process will be overseen by a dedicated and diverse committee of educators and administrators who will thoroughly review all applications. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.
“Somersfield Academy remains committed to providing equal opportunities, and the Equity and Merit Scholarships are intended for students who cannot afford this educational journey without financial assistance.”
