Hamilton Princess & Beach Club kicked off the 2023 holiday season with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and unveiling the hotel’s festive décor including a super-sized gingerbread house built with 900 pounds of gingerbread.
A spokesperson said, “The larger-than-life gingerbread house will double as the Princess Gingerbread Shop offering items like chocolate and assorted treats, cakes and biscuits, gift cards, baskets, and much more. A dining reservations agent will also be available for your festive dining bookings.
“Holiday decorations will be spread across the hotel property, including the popular and Instagram-worthy ‘Tunnel of Lights’ in the courtyard.
“The building of the shop was a huge undertaking by the hotel’s team of pastry chefs, and its engineering team of carpenters, who began planning the structural concept in the early fall months. The house is made of 900 pounds of gingerbread, 533 eggs, and 160 pounds of icing sugar. Two weeks were spent whipping up the gingerbread mixture, and a final two days to affix the gingerbread to the 15-foot installation.
“Hours for the Princess Gingerbread Shop are 11am to 6pm, seven days a week, beginning December 1st; closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
