Premier Meets With UAE Foreign Trade Minister
[Updated] United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi met with the Premier David Burt during the COP28 conference, and said he sees “huge potential to broaden the scope of our economic cooperation.”
The Minister posted the image below on X and said, “Delighted to meet Bermuda Premier David Burt during his visit to COP28. We see huge potential to broaden the scope of our economic cooperation, particularly in the finance and transportation sectors, and build on bilateral non-oil trade that continues to grow year-on-year.”
Update Dec 8, 11.07am: Premier David Burt posted the image below, and said, “Had the pleasure of meeting with His Excellency Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade for the United Arab Emirates. We discussed how we can strengthen the ties between #Bermuda and the UAE through economic cooperation and investment opportunities in hospitality and infrastructure.
“My visit to the UAE for COP28 has also provided a valuable opportunity to re-engage with Government officials like Dr Thani, whom I first met when I visited the region in March, as well as leaders from other countries and private sector representatives.
“As Bermuda continues to expand its relationships outside of North America and Europe, meetings such as these are vital to building new relationships and broadening opportunities for our island.”
