Nahki Wells Moves Closer To City Return

Nahki Wells is “heading in the right direction” as he edges closer to a first-team return, according to Bristol City manager Liam Manning.
Wells has been out of action since picking up an ankle injury during his side’s 2-1 defeat at Leeds United on October 7 but has returned to training on the grass at the High Performance Centre.
“Nahki’s been out on the grass this week, it’s hard to put a definitive number of days on it,” Manning told Bristol Live.
“You have to see how they respond to certain steps in the rehab process. Like I say, he’s been out on the grass, so hopefully, he’ll continue heading in the right direction.
“Everybody [else] seems in a good spot so it’s about learning from the week that we had and trying to build on some of the positives.”
Wells, 33, has scored three goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
He is yet to feature under Manning, who replaced Nigel Pearson as manager of the Sky Bet Championship club in November.
