Saundre Simmons Ready For Boxing Debut

Bermudian boxer Saundre “Dash” Simmons will make his long-awaited professional debut when he faces Tre Baker in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday [December 16].
He was set for his debut last month against Calvin Early in Johnson City, Tennessee; however, the American withdrew at the eleventh hour, with Simmons facing replacement Zion Tomlinson instead in an exhibition match. Simmons won via a first-round stoppage.
The 26-year-old, raised by his Bermudian parents in Somerset before moving to Asheville, North Carolina, with his mother when he was 12, will face Baker in a four-round cruiserweight contest.
“It’s frustrating because I’ve had five or six pro fights fall through,” Simmons told Bernews last month.
“Hopefully, I’ll break the ice soon because my coach Enoc Solano and I have a plan.”
Louisianan Baker has fought twice as a pro, losing by technical knockout to Adrian Washington and Jonathan Cooper.
Simmons enjoyed a successful amateur career, placing runner-up at the USA National Boxing Championships in Louisiana and the Golden Gloves of America in Oklahoma in 2021.
