Ministry Seeks Input On Ending Homelessness
The Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, together with Members of the PTEH Advisory Panel and Steering Committee, will host Community Consultation Sessions and are eager to engage with the public to gather valuable insights and perspectives on the draft strategic plan aimed at ending homelessness in Bermuda,” said the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, Tineé Furbert.
A Government spokesperson said, “The sessions will cover various aspects, including understanding the root causes of homelessness, providing an overview of the strategic plan, discussing available properties island-wide, and assessing the current state of homelessness in Bermuda.”
“We invite persons who have been impacted by homelessness or who have an interest in homelessness to join the conversation and get to know the faces behind the stories,” says Minister Furbert. “Ask the questions that have really been bothering you. We want to appeal to persons with experiences related to homelessness to attend and offer insight.”
Minister Furbert added, “With vacant buildings and unoccupied property island-wide, we will also look at some of the island’s properties and identify the best solutions for social housing. What are some concerns shared by landowners and landlords?”
“Bermuda, your feedback is invaluable in fortifying this plan to truly reflect the needs and aspirations of our community. After considering all of your input, the comprehensive strategic plan will be finalized and published in April 2024 for subsequent execution,” emphasizes Minister Furbert.

How about MP’s give up their bloated wage to pay for a shelter and workforce training center.
Is this a scam pagg
How about build affordable housing for them and HELP THEM TO Survive the exorbitant prices for the fundamental things such as for food, water, electricity and Housing
Government should NOT be building anything.
With that said, if our Government would create economic conditions favourable to development, houses would be build by developers.
-Your government built affordable housing….but is turning it into a hotel instead.
-your government is in Billions of debt.
-Why don’t you build housing and give it away?
Perhaps if they hadn’t wasted $100m+ on the still-empty Grand Atlantic.
Still, I’m sure somebody got rich out that.
