Athene Donates Over $325,000 In 2023

Athene Life Re Ltd. [ALRe], the reinsurance subsidiary of Athene Holding Ltd., contributed over $325,000 to the Bermuda community in 2023 through its charitable donations, local sponsorship initiatives, and scholarship program.

A spokesperson said, “his has been part of Athene’s ongoing commitment to give back to the community where its employees work and live.

“Through its Charitable Committee’s donations, ALRe made a positive impact on 19 local charities and organizations aligned with Athene’s philanthropic mission to champion education, environmental sustainability, human services, and health and well-being. These charities included:

  • Coalition for the Protection of Children: to support their programs and services offered to children and families with unmet critical needs.
  • Knowledge Quest: to aid with the organization’s mission of sending Bermudian students to colleges and universities overseas.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda: to collect essential items for Bermuda’s children and families and to further support the organization’s initiatives.
  • Age Concern: to enhance the quality of life and promote the rights and opportunities of older individuals in Bermuda.
  • HOME: to support homelessness prevention and extinction.
  • Planet Math: to support the organization’s mission of broadening accessibility to educational support in mathematics.

“Furthering Athene’s mission of actively engaging in its communities to make an impact, the company also sponsored various community programs such as the Bermuda Cricket Board’s “Athene T20 Cricket League,” the USA Track & Field Bermuda Grand Prix, “Fastest Kid on the Rock,” and spearheading the inaugural Athene Life Career Expo, among others.

“As part of Athene’s continuing partnership with the Bermuda College to invest in Bermuda’s future generation, in 2023 Athene awarded five new scholarships to Bermuda College students. In addition, it has also continued to support six existing Bermuda College scholarship recipients in their second year of study.”
