BCCL February Freeze Raises $6,300

February 26, 2024 | 0 Comments

Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning [BCCL] February Freeze was held at Admiralty Park Beach, and raised $6,300 for the BCCL Foundation’s tuition bursary fund.

A spokesperson said, “Students, families and community heroes gathered this past Friday at Admiralty Park Beach for an event that combined bravery with charity. BCCL’s Fourth Annual February Freeze invited courageous participants to take a plunge into the chilly Bermuda waters for a great cause – to support the BCCL Foundation’s tuition bursary fund, ensuring that education for children who think and learn differently remains within reach for all.

“Seventy-five adults and students attended and $6,300.00 was raised from families. The event was crucial in raising funds for the BCCL Foundation’s mission to provide tuition bursaries and financial assistance to students where needed. BCCLF’s goal is to partner with other like-minded organizations to ensure that children’s needs are met, and they are able to become productive members of our community. With 54% of the students having benefited from such support for the 2023-2024 school year, given the state of the economy, donor funding is crucial now more than ever.”

“The February Freeze challenged individuals to push their boundaries and also get ‘freezing for a reason,’ said Cindy Corday, BCCL’s Head of School. “We had the perfect sunny weather for this year’s event. It was a team effort, and everything went smoothly. We appreciate the help from staff, senior students, and parents, leading up to the February Freeze and the day of the event.”

The spokesperson said, “We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors, whose support was instrumental in the success of the February Freeze. Their commitment to our cause and their contributions significantly enhanced our event, allowing us to raise funds for the BCCL’s bursary program. Without you, none of this would be possible.
