Couple Returns For 50th Anniversary In Bermuda
A couple returned to Bermuda to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their meeting during College Weeks in Bermuda back in 1974.
A spokesperson said, “Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Dunn, staying at Newstead Belmont Hills Resort are a walking testimony of how Bermuda’s tourism product touches the hearts of people in a profound way.
“Little did Villanova University student Gregory Dunn know that his second visit to Bermuda in 1974 for College Weeks would change his life forever. In Bermuda, dancing to the music of the Bermuda Strollers he would meet his future wife and be married a year later in 1975.”
Kim Swan, Junior Minister of Tourism, Culture & Sport shared, “The Dunns embody the true essence of what a Bermuda tourism experience should always be about love. Their entire life as a family was shaped by a Bermuda experience and that aurora spawned in Bermuda as stated with them throughout their life.
“I’m honoured and blessed to share their love story rooted in Bermuda because it punctuates what still needs to be the core of how we promote our country.
“Through a conversation with Newstead Belmont Golf Director Darron Swan we learned of their deep Bermuda connections.”
The spokesperson said, “The Dunns shared that they were former timeshare owners at the St. George’s Club and are also planning to return to Bermuda for their 50th Anniversary in 2025. During their whirlwind visit to Bermuda, they visited Port Royal Golf Course where the Acting Operations Manager extended a warm embrace.”
