Love Is Love BDA Brunch Event Raises $2500
On Sunday, February 4th, Love is Love BDA hosted their very first brunch event at Thyme Restaurant, and they said that ‘thanks to raffle sales and donations the event raised a total amount of $2500 which will be donated directly towards OUTBermuda’s 2024 education bursary, a quarter of their $10,000 goal.”
Jameka Smith, the Board lead for OUTBermuda’s Education Bursary said, “I’d like to thank Love is Love BDA for the generous donation from this event that will benefit the recipient of our 2024 Education Bursary. Our team at OUTBermuda looks forward to future event collaborations with Love is Love BDA and we appreciate Christopher and his team for taking the initiative to help raise funds on our behalf.”
Executive Director for OUTBermuda, Tiffany Paynter, added: “The event was such a beautiful moment in time and I can’t say enough about Chris Douglas. People that attended don’t see the phone calls, emails, chasing up, and organizing that he did to make the event run so smoothly. But because of his work behind the scenes OUTBermuda is $2,500 closer to our goal. So I just want to echo Jameka and say ‘Thank You!’ for choosing to donate to us this year!”
A spokesperson said, “Love is Love BDA’s co-founder, Christopher Douglas, would especially like to thank Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Center, Rock Island Coffee, Gosling’s Limited, Pitt & Co, Europa Limited and Uplift for sponsoring the event. Many thanks to all the establishments who donated prizes including: BELCO, Astwood Dickinson, Subspace, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Crisson Jewelers, The Booth, Bermuda Bookstore, Island Restaurant Group, Flying Colors, Bermuda Restaurants Limited, Brown & Co., Harbourside Holdings Ltd., Scooter Mart, and Yellowbird Bermuda as well as special shoutouts to Casey’s Lounge and Treats Limited.
