Cricket: Bermuda Advance To Super Six Stage
Bermuda have advanced to the Super Six stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off – despite losing their final group A match to Kuwait in Malaysia.
They finished level on two points with Saudi Arabia, who they beat by four runs last week, and have qualified for the next stage because of their superior head-to-head record.
Bermuda will play Tanzania, Vanuata and Bahrain in the Super Six, with the top four teams advancing to the Challenge League.
Coach Cal Waldron’s side, who lost to Kuwait by five wickets, face Tanzania on Wednesday.
“The Bermuda senior men’s national team win the head-to-head tie-breaker v Saudi Arabia [and] advance to the Super Six round of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League in Malaysia although failing to secure a win against Kuwait,” the Bermuda Cricket Board wrote on Facebook.
“The top four teams after the Super Six Stage this week, will take the spots in the next Challenge League cycle which will feed into a Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off.”
