Three Arrested, Cash & Suspected Drugs Seized
Three people have been arrested and a “quantity of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, and cash” has been seized, the police confirmed today.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] issued a public advisory on 20th February 2024, concerning the suspected presence of fentanyl-laced heroin in the community, which has resulted in the hospitalisation of three individuals.
“On Saturday, 24th February 2024, the BPS executed an operation dubbed ‘Operation Holly’, under the authority of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
“Police officers from the Drug Unit, Tactical Department, and Criminal Investigation Unit participated in the exercise.
“Three people have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply, after police conducted search warrants at three residences in Pembroke Parish, seizing a quantity of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, and cash.”
Superintendent Sherwin Joseph, Crime Division, emphasized, “The successful seizures have effectively disrupted a drug network operating in Bermuda and have contributed to the protection of our community from the harmful effects of illicit or dangerous drugs.”
The police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service remains committed to fostering a safe and secure environment for all residents.
“Members of the public are reminded that should they have any information on criminal activity occurring in a community, please call the main police number, 295-0011, 211, or speak with a police officer whom they may know.
“You may also provide the information via the BPS community reporting portal at https://portal.police.bm/. Alternatively, you may submit anonymous tips via the independent and confidential Bermuda Crime Stoppers website, https://www.crimestoppers.bm.”
