Bermuda Lose To Bahrain In Super Sixes

The Bermuda national cricket team lost their final match of the Super Six stage in the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off in Malaysia today [March 3].

They were beaten by 30 runs [DLS method] by Bahrain at the Bayuemas Oval, Pandamaran, to finish bottom of the Super Six standings.

Bahrain won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 238 off 49.2 overs, with opener Prashant Kurup scoring 79 off 103 balls.

Derrick Brangman was the pick of Bermuda’s bowlers, taking four wickets for 48 runs with his slow left-arm spin.

In a rain-shortened match, Bermuda scored 131 for eight from 25 overs, with Brangman top-scoring with 40 not out and captain Delray Rawlins adding 30.

Abdul Majid claimed three for 13 for Bahrain.

    A message to the Government of Bermuda. No more money on this lot. The international announcer used the word, lethargic to describe our players, and continued to talk about that they were real characters. What would you guess they were up to, real characters at night, lethargic during the day. Do not give them one more $ of taxpayer funds until they go and win next time. Awarding this behavior, lethargic and then laughing on the way to the pavilion is disgusting! It was a party!
