BermudAir launched the inaugural flight to their new service to Baltimore yesterday.

A spokesperson said, “BermudAir, the island’s only locally based airline, launched the inaugural flight to kick off its new service to Baltimore. This was also the 1,000th BermudAir flight since the company launched service to the US six months ago.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating these two milestones today, and to welcome Baltimore into our route network,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir. “Our year-round service to Baltimore provides Bermuda residents with another convenient link to the US East Coast for leisure, business and very importantly medical travel. It’s also a great addition for inbound travellers from overseas.”

The spokesperson said, “Local media, including the Baltimore NBC news affiliate WBAL/Channel 11, covered BermudAir’s arrival to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport [BWI]. Guests on the inaugural flight helping to mark the occasion today included Hon Karen Grissette, US Consul General to Bermuda. A group of representatives from local partners who supply the Bermuda inspired food and beverages served in-flight were also on board.”

“We want to recognise the importance of these partners as a core element of us providing exceptional service to our guests,” said Mr. Scott. “We thank them and sincerely appreciate them being part of BermudAir’s journey, some since our launch, and helping us to represent Bermuda every day.”

The spokesperson said, “BermudAir’s current food and beverage partners are Ahmani’s Cookies, Bacardi, Bermuda Craft Brewery, Bermuda Gin Company, Bermuda Trail Mix, Butterfield and Vallis, Confections, Gibbons Company, Goslings, L’Artisan Boulangerie and 9 Parishes.

“Representatives from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital also travelled on the flight, to reinforce Bermuda’s long-standing relationship with Johns Hopkins Hospital.”

“The introduction of this direct flight to Baltimore via BermudAir is a game changer for our patients,” said Scott Pearman, CEO of KEMH. “It not only streamlines the travel process but also significantly lessens the burden on individuals and families during what can already be a challenging time. No longer will they have to navigate multiple layers and endure extended travel times, but instead they can enjoy a seamless journey directly to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.”

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to BermudAir for recognising the importance of this direct link and making it a reality,” Mr. Pearman added. “Your dedication to improving healthcare accessibility in Bermuda has not gone unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for your partnership in this historic endeavour.”
