BermudAir Expands With Two New Aircraft

January 21, 2025 | 12 Comments

“The next chapter in BermudAir’s growth takes flight with the addition of two Embraer 190AR-E1 aircraft to its fleet,” the company announced today.

A spokesperson said, “These versatile and proven aircraft will join BermudAir’s current fleet of Embraer aircraft in Spring 2025, ultimately enhancing BermudAir’s operations, offering increased capacity, greater range, and new opportunities to connect travellers with Bermuda for work and pleasure.

“The Embraer 190 is a trusted and adaptable aircraft, widely recognised for its reliable performance across the demanding operations of airlines around the globe. With 96 passenger seats, the Embraer 190 offers greater capacity for both travellers and cargo, featuring approximately 1,000 kg more cargo space and an additional range of 1,000 kilometres compared to the Embraer 175s in BermudAir’s current fleet.”

Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of BermudAir, shared his enthusiasm about this milestone, exclaiming, “After just one year of establishing BermudAir, we are thrilled to take this next step in our journey. Adding these two Embraer 190 aircraft will allow us to grow thoughtfully while ensuring we maintain the high standards of reliability and service our customers have come to expect. This expansion will support our efforts to stabilise operations, create new opportunities for travel, and enhance the experience for everyone who flies BermudAir.”

A spokesperson added, “These new aircraft underscore BermudAir’s dedication to operational excellence with the 3rd aircraft to be operated as a dedicated spare and on-demand charter aircraft, while the 4th will enable BermudAir to increase frequencies to existing markets and to expand into additional markets.”

Mr. Scott added, “Knowing when to grow and how to do so responsibly is critical to ensuring long-term success. This expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers while continuing to deliver the reliable and exceptional service BermudAir is known for.”

A spokesperson added, “With this fleet expansion, BermudAir is not only bolstering its operational capabilities but also unlocking opportunities for network growth and service enhancements. The new aircraft will support both existing cities and the previously announced new destinations, including Hartford, CT/Springfield, MA [BDL], Raleigh-Durham [RDU], and Charleston [CHS] starting in April 2025.

Doubling the size of the fleet. Well done, BermudAir.

Please buy an aircraft that can compete with BA to London!
You will get so much business, I promise.

That is much easier said than done.

BerudaAir is still looking for it’s niche. They can’t compete with the major airlines at the airports they fly and the connections that they have in their systems.

Better to fly to airports that airlines serving Bermuda may fly to but don’t have direct flights and there is enough demand to make a regional jet profitable.

Hopefully two more aircraft will serve BermudaAir well and give some flexibility when the inevitable mechanical problems arise. Much better also to have aircraft all of the same type from a maintenance perspective.

      Big facts!!!

    • Joe Bloggs says:

The Embraer 190 and 195 cannot compete with a Boeing 777 for BA’s business. It is a solid regional jest, but not a transatlantic jet.

I would prefer that BermudAir grow organically, not through highly speculative risk-taking. In that way, BermudaAir might be around for many years to come.

    • It is very possible says:

This is very possible and does not even require any bigger aircraft. They simply have to capitalize on an overlooked destination that would generate a lot of revenue by itself. Long story short they would need to institute a direct flight from Bermuda to the Azores and then on to England. This would allow for more visitors from the Azores and also allow guest workers from the Azores a direct flight at a fraction of the cost to visit their family. A Great suggestion and I second it ????????! Bermudair will do it!!!

I have flown from Baltimore to Bermuda twice on Bermuda Air. I am impressed with the great service by the Airline. From the comfort of the aircraft to the professionalism of the operators and service of the attendants. I also had need to contact the office in Bermuda and the staff were very helpful.

  5. JMT says:

I have flown BermudAir 5 times now. I will always support them. The flights are always nice, the pilots keep you informed while enroute, the flight attendants are excellent and very hospitable. It’s a smaller airline and that’s what I like. Not too many people on the flight ✈️ that’s going to cause an annoyance to other people. I’ve told several people they need to have the BermudAir experience. They’ve taken my advice and have come back and thanked me for the recommendation. They loved it. I hope BermudAir continues to grow. All the best to them! I will always support them! ❤️ ???? ???? ????
