Kempe Climbs Leaderboard Again In Spain
The fifth day of competition concluded today at the 2024 ILCA Under 21 European Championships & Open European Trophy in Majorca, Spain, organized by Reial Club Nàutic de Pollença.
The day started with a two-hour postponement onshore due to a lack of wind. Sailors including Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe were only called to the water for their first race of the day at 13:10, with a 10-knot breeze blowing from the East.
There’s a new leader in the ILCA 7 men’s championship, as Italian sailor Enrico Tanferna surpassed overnight leader Ole Schweckendiek from Germany for the first time in the event.
Kempe continues to move up the leaderboard, coming off the water in 18th place finishing 12th in the only race of the day, and now has 149 net points.
