Premier Congratulates Richardson-Augustus
Premier David Burt congratulated Tammy Richardson-Augustus on receiving the 2024 Woman of the Year Award.
In a post on Instagram, Premier David Burt said, “I attended the Bermuda International Women’s Day Celebration with my wife, Kristin. With this year’s theme of “Inspiring Inclusion”, we continue our commitment to promoting gender equality and creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
“On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I congratulate Tammy Richardson-Augustus on receiving the 2024 Woman of the Year Award. We thank Tammy for her charitable work and advocacy within our community. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to supporting those in need have not gone unnoticed.”
In announcing Ms Richardson-Augustus as the winner, the organizers said, “Tammy Richardson, Partner at Appleby, was introduced as the 2024 Woman of the Year. Tammy’s outstanding achievements, including being a lawyer, mother, and advocate with an unwavering dedication to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, set her apart. As a certified facilitator and ambassador for the One Love Foundation, she has raised awareness about relationship abuse and provided support in Bermuda.
“As a Partner at Appleby, Tammy brings her expertise to bear on professional and community boards including the Bermuda Monetary Authority, Aspen Insurance Group, Saltus Grammar School, Bermuda End to End, and WeSpeak Bermuda. She has partnered with local charities such as the Women’s Resource Centre, Centre Against Abuse, The Coalition for The Protection of Children, and The Family Centre to amplify the voices of those impacted by domestic abuse.”
