Bermudian amateur boxer Adrian Roach has described his two-week training camp in Las Vegas as a valuable learning experience.

Roach rubbed shoulders with some of the top names in the sport during his training stint at the DLX Boxing Gym under coach Kay Koroma, who has worked with world champions such as Shakur Stevenson and Jarrett Hurd.

Among the decorated boxers Roach trained alongside were former world champion Caleb Plant, Nigerian heavyweight Efe Ajagba, bantamweight Joshua Greer, and former unified super featherweight world champion Mikaela Mayer.

“Today marks the end of my developmental training camp here in Las Vegas at the DLX Boxing Gym,” Roach wrote on Facebook yesterday [March
16].

“Over the past two weeks, I’ve learned so much and have been able to meet really great people along the way.

“I appreciate [the] coaches for pushing me during this camp and forcing me to develop beyond what I thought my body could do.

“I appreciate the whole DLX team for being welcoming and I look forward to coming back.”

The 22-year-old, who fights at welterweight or super welterweight, added: “After many rounds with world champions and future world champions I’m confident in saying I learned a lot.

“Eager to keep growing and developing as I continue my career.

“Lastly thank you to all my sponsors Sentinel Defence Group, Buzz Café and Beyond Inclusion.”
