Kenni Thompson looks set to play for AFC Bournemouth Women at the Vitality Stadium – the home of the Bournemouth men’s team – on Sunday [March 24].
Thompson and her team-mates will face Keynsham Town Ladies in front of an expected crowd of 6,000 spectators in the FA Women’s National League Division One South West.
AFC Bournemouth Women play three matches each season at the Vitality Stadium, where the club’s Premier League men’s side play.
Thompson, who joined AFC Bournemouth Women from Spanish Liga F side Eibar in January, told the club’s X [formerly Twitter] page: “It’s been much easier to settle in than I expected.
“Everyone at the club has been really good to me and helpful. It’s been a smooth transition.
“I’m at a time of my life when I’m thinking about things I haven’t thought about previously.
“[Joining Bournemouth] was perfect timing. I’m excited about the project and happy to be part of it.”
The 23-year-old winger, who made her Bermuda women’s national team debut against the Dominican Republic in the Concacaf W Gold Cup qualifiers in December last year, added: “Having a diverse background, I can adjust to whatever challenge or situation comes my way.
“Having the support of the club and our fans, people wanting to watch a women’s match and watch us play, is inspiring.”
