Video: FDM/Marc Bean Hold Press Conference
[Updated] The Free Democratic Movement [FDM] — the political party founded by Marc Bean — is holding a press conference today [April 16]. We will have additional information later on, and in the meantime the live video is below.
Update | The press conference is still underway. Mr Bean said the party has ended their ‘strategic silence’ and plans to have 36 candidates in the next election.
“We are back on the runway and about to take off, and we are inviting people who are like-minded to join us,” Mr Bean said.
Openness, honesty and accountability? From politicians in the 21st century?
That runs counter the the deceptive, self-serving governments we have seen in Bermuda, the UK and US in recent years.
Yup! Exactly but in politics there’s no other way to get in but to tell the people what they want to hear. Lol!

If they have candidates then lets see and hear from them. If an election is called and I don’t see a candidate, then I’ll have no choice other than OBA.
Hopefully they will split the PLP vote, I mean they couldn’t do any worse.
Basically what you’re saying is that black voters only vote FDM or PLP. It’s because of stupid comments like this why the opposition can’t get swing voters to return.
Why is it an issue to tell the truth?
I mean there aren’t many white people voting PLP and the PLP have messed things up.

It’s what the majority of the electorate saying that.
The OBA is called the white party, with surrogates, and they’re not going to vote for them.

The last thing Bermuda needs is yet another political party. We are fed up with self serving political parties and their politicians who would not know truth if they tripped over it.
Where are the independent politicians? People who can think and speak for themselves without a whip over their heads telling them how to vote on matters?

I can only think of one independent politician elected following the 1968 general election. That was Stuart Hayward in 1989. Where are they? I do not believe they exist in Bermuda any more.
That entire press conference on the FDM part was a total embarrassment.
How can anyone follow Rayki. Do better Marc you are starting off worse than 2020.
Anyone that votes for the FDM when they haven’t care about you in the last three years is crazy. We are better off voting for an Independent candidate.
