Jake Brislane Wins Second Carifta Medal
Jake Brislane won his second medal at the Carifta Games at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St George’s, Grenada, yesterday [April 1].
Brislane, who won bronze in the boys under-20 1,500 metres on the opening day of the competition on Saturday, claimed silver in the 5,000 in 15min 42.42sec.
The 19-year-old went one better than last year’s Games in Nassau, the Bahamas, when he won bronze in the 5,000 [15:45.84].
Meanwhile, Miles Outerbridge, 16, finished seventh in the boys under-17 200 final in 22.63.
Also in action for Bermuda was Tatiana Sousa, 15, who came ninth in the girls under-17 javelin final with a throw of 28.97.
In the relays, the under-17 girls team came fifth in the 4×400 in 4:04.59, and the boys under-20 4×400 team came ninth overall in the heats in 3:30.14.
