Bermuda Pride Seeks Volunteers For 2024 Events
Bermuda Pride is “issuing a call for volunteers to join a number of subcommittees to help assist with the organisation of our much-anticipated 2024 events, which will take place from August 28th to September 1st, 2024 under the banner of ‘Family Affair”.
A spokesperson said, “Volunteers are the lifeblood of Bermuda Pride, and your dedication and passion are essential to the success of our events. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer, or looking to get involved for the first time, there’s a place for you at Bermuda Pride.
“Our annual Pride celebration is one of the island’s most anticipated events, offering our diverse community and allies a period of greater visibility, connection and support. Joining a subcommittee presents a unique opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in making it happen.
“We’re currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to sign up and support a number of subcommittees, including the Open Mic, Beach Day, Parade, Party in the Park, Volunteer Coordination, Marketing & Communications, and Merchandise teams.
“Subcommittee members are asked to dedicate up to 2 hours per week to assist in planning and executing various aspects of our events. This may include creative input, event planning, and hands-on support to ensure the success of Pride.”
Ciara Izuchukwu, Fundraising Coordinator for Bermuda Pride 2024, says becoming a volunteer with us allowed her to meet new people in Bermuda, “I signed up initially as I didn’t really know anyone on the island and I thought it would be a great way to meet new people. Now I have so many friends and everyone is so lovely. I’d definitely recommend stepping up if it’s something you’re interested in. It’s really rewarding work!”
Bermuda Pride Project Manager Najib Chentouf says volunteering for subcommittees is key as planning Bermuda Pride ramps up, “Subcommittees will assist in bringing our plans for ‘Family Affair’ to life. Volunteering for a subcommittee will assist in forming the backbone of pride planning and enhancing the experience of our stakeholders and participants.”
