The DailyMale Men’s Health Clinic hosted a highly successful first event of 2024 on Saturday [May 18] at the Bermuda Industrial Union.
Client traffic was brisk, as a clinic record 50 men were provided free offerings of testing for prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease between 9 am and 1 pm, with most grateful for the chance to identify levels of potential risk.
“Our first clinic of the year was heart-warming as we had such an incredible response,” said co-founder Jade Robinson of the successful venture. “It’s truly amazing to see the impact that we are having in such a short time frame and how so many men are benefiting.
“I want to specially thank and highlight the incredible work of all the DailyMale volunteers, as none of this would be possible without them.
“The amount of time and effort that goes into holding these clinics takes a lot of work, passion, and love for the Bermuda community.
“I am honoured to work with such amazing individuals, they are indeed heroes.”
Daily Male, which received official charity status earlier this year, caters mostly to men over 50 who are uninsured or under-insured.
Additionally, the organisation is seeking donations to aid in the purchase of a purpose-built bus that would provide greater mobility and convenience in the quest to take healthcare to the streets.
Four more editions of the once monthly clinics are planned for the year, with the next occurring June 8 at St George’s Cricket Club.
