17-Year-Old Arrested After 18-Year-Old Stabbed

A 17-year-old male suspect is in police custody after an 18-year-old male was stabbed, with the 18-year-old “transported by ambulance to KEMH where at last check, he continued to receive treatment for his injuries which are considered life threatening,” the police confirmed.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 5:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, police and other first responders were dispatched to a Hamilton Parish residence, following reports that a male had been injured during an alleged altercation with another male at that location.

“Upon arrival, ambulance personnel immediately commenced treatment on the victim, an 18-year-old male, who was found in an unresponsive state, with an apparent stab wound.

“He was subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check, he continued to receive treatment for his injuries which are considered life threatening.

“An investigation into this matter has begun and a 17-year-old male suspect, is now in custody after having surrendered to police.

“The investigation remains ongoing and eyewitnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit on 247-1744.
